URL :  David Copperfield
Author : Charles Dickens
Detail :

David Copperfield is the eighth novel written by Charles Dickens. The story was monthly published in a magazine in 1849, like almost all the author's works. And in 1850 it was publicized in the form of a book.

Events in the author's life inspired many elements of the novel. Thus, the book is a fictional autobiography of one of the greatest writers of the nineteenth century.

The novel also mentions the misery experienced during the industrial revolution when the exploitation of women and children in factories became widespread.

Plot

The story recounts David's whole life, from childhood to maturity. He was born in Blunderstone, a small town in Suffolk County near Great Yarmouth in England. After the death of his father, David must spend the first years of his childhood without the presence and security of a father figure. But he lives pleased with his mother Clara and her nanny Peggotty.
